Connecticut Lyric Opera – Summer Opera Institute

Preliminary information: Repertoire: Jean-Philippe Rameau Daphnis et Eglé, RCT 34 Dates: The 2019 Connecticut Lyric Opera – Summer Opera Institute will run from Tuesday, August 9 to Sunday, August 24, 2019, and will continue with Performances of the opera at the beginning of October. The program is designed for young professionals as well as college and graduate students. Voice technique lessons will also be provided for advanced high school students. Requirements: The Festival will make the best effort to cast all participants in the leading roles and ensemble, based on their skill and ability. Participation in all assigned ensembles will be required. Faculty: Jurate Svedaite Daniel Juarez Adrian Sylveen Pianist: Blake Hansen, piano Guest Master-classes: Steve Frederiks Costs: The tuition for the 2019 Connecticut Lyric Opera – Summer Institute is $1200. Deadline for application is July 30, 2019.

CTVirtuosi Youth Baroque Ensemble

CTVirtuosi Youth Baroque Ensemble is a group of young and dedicated string players performing music by most celebrated baroque composers: Purcell, Bach, Vivaldi, Graupner, Gluck, and others.
The ensemble is gaining recognition with performances at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum, Cyril and Methodius Church in Hartford, and St. James Church in Farmington.

The group meets on Sundays from 2 – 4 pm in Hartford.

Admission is by audition only.
